We are excited to offer you a unique pet spa experience with individual attention, no cages, no cage dryers, and over 20 years of experience, including certifications in professional grooming, Pet CPR, Pet First Aid, cooperative grooming techniques, and Fear Free certification.

Vaccinations
We care about your pets so we require vaccines. If you have a situation where vaccinations are not possible for you, we reserve a special appointment time that will be the last appointment of the week so we can sanitize even more thoroughly.
Fear Free Certified
I have continued education in proper handling for what we refer to as " cooperative care". We work slowly with love, care and understanding. There are no "bad dogs" just some are uncooperative with trauma or fear and our goal is to prevent and reverse fear response.
Grooming Tailored To You
We love your input and communication! Our goal is work with you so don't be shy! Tell us your concerns, disappointments, issues and past experiences. We promise to do everything we can to learn from you and offer our knowledge in return.
Restraint
We use a grooming loop to secure dogs on our table but they are never left alone. Gentle pressure, creative solutions and patience make it possible for us to take on clients that other groomers refuse. Every effort is made to avoid a muzzle- it's our mission to create a safe space where your dog is confident and happy.
Sanitation
Another reason our smaller business model is superior: cleanliness. We don't use harmful household chemicals like Fabulouso, Lysol, or Pine Sol. We invest in pet safe, science backed T.E.O Kennel Cleaner by Thornell. It is designed for eradicating pet contagions and odor. Other salons often use household cleaners with a strong scent to cover the odor rather than sanitize.
At the end of each week, the space is deep cleaned and sprayed for parasite prevention. We mop the night before the start of the week. This ensures nothing toxic remains in the salon space.
Quiet and Calm
We do not have dog daycare nor do we have dog boarding. This eliminates excessive barking or distractions as well as less contamination risk. We ask that you pick your pet up at your scheduled pick up time so that we can continue to offer specialized attention to every pet.
We also use Pheromones, "Through A Dog's Ear" (classical music re-mastered for dog's hearing), limited ingredient treats (pet parent approval required), and calm, encouraging voices.

ABOUT AMANDA-
The Compassionate Groomer
HI! My name is Amanda and I am passionate about all things related to animals and their care/wellbeing. As a child and into young adulthood, I intended to graduate as a Veterinarian but life had other plans and after many side quests I found myself at The Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology in 2001. I graduated at the top of my class and my instructors noticed that I had a way with challenging dogs.
Unfortunately, while grooming feels like my gift , I have struggled for all these years to find a place that operates in the way that I am comfortable with. Cage drying, kenneled clients, poor sanitation (improper use of cleaning products, toxic products and even damp and molding areas), improper restraint and use of force/dominance methods of control, no vaccinations required, cheap equipment and low end shampoos are just a few of the issues I have encountered over the years. Even in salons that boast cage free; I had concerns with daycare/boarding dogs accidental interaction or poorly designed salons with hazards for the dogs and staff such as doorways that were not entirely secure and dangerous roads with no fencing to prevent accidents.
Our Co-Owner, Rose, has also attended The Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology. She provides bathing, prep-work on the coat , nail trims and she is in charge of ensuring that the salon and staff are following strict, cooperative grooming standards. These standards were developed by seeing the mistakes in other business models as well as where services were poor or lacked a caring, gentle grooming method.
Therefore, in order to share our knowledge and passion, we offer a unique spa experience. We have continued education, creative solutions for fearful pets, and dedication to the well being of your pet. Please feel free to contact us with questions, we want to hear from you!
